Assalamualaikum wbt…
Hi there, sorry for the late update — kinda exhausted. Had a workshop earlier, went straight to sleep after, and only got back from SP this evening. For my kembo, here it is cepat-cepat. ‘Pa wau lam wau nun’ betul, tak sabar-sabar nak baca kan? Ngeh3.
So, we started hiking around 11:20 am after reciting a doa together. Important tau baca doa masuk hutan, kang ada yang ikut balik. Wakakaka. Okay, serious. Just imagine how hot it was at that hour — blazing. But no choice, we were already late. Overall still okay. Quite a lot of people were hiking too, even families with small kids. At the start, everyone was full of energy, excited nak hiking. Sampai lupa stretching dulu, mau krem kaki baru ada akal.
The first track was fine since it’s a proper path, siap ada staff cleaning the area. Because early on, it’s still by the sea — you can see people swimming, fishing (yup, mengai = memancing). Along the way, we bumped into juniors (well, same age but different batch). They were just chilling by the beachside. Honestly, the early track was gorgeous — benches by the sea, swings under trees, breezy winds. Memang syok kalau duduk situ lama-lama.
Then we reached Sungai Tukun suspension bridge where there’s a junction. Right goes to Canopy Walk (which we picked), left goes straight to Pantai Kerachut. After the bridge, barulah adventure betul-betul start.
Once masuk hutan, dah tak nampak laut. Sunyi sikit, but don’t worry — still got old tracks to follow. That’s what makes it adventurous kan. At this point, it was only us 12. Voices still strong sebab belum penat. After about half an hour, sampai dekat Canopy Walk. Here, kena tunjuk tiket yang beli masa daftar tadi, and also register nama again with ticket number.
The Canopy Walk wasn’t too long, but still fun. Rule dia, kena jarakkan 5–10 meters before the next person boleh jalan. Luckily I was in the middle, sebab the boys at the back kept shaking the bridge 🙄. Tinggi jugak kalau tengok bawah, so kalau gayat better jangan pandang langsung. Took quite some time sebab nak tunggu each person cross one by one.
After that, kena register lagi sekali dekat buku log. Lepas turun, barulah trek jadi tough — non-stop panjat bukit. At one point, I was so exhausted sampai rasa nak jatuh sebab hilang balance. We pushed on for about 2 hours (including Canopy Walk detour). Kalau skip Canopy Walk, maybe 1.5 hours je.
We only rested once for about 10 minutes, then continued. This stretch was the killer — endless climbs, small rivers to cross, everyone breathing heavily. Aku pun sama, macam lembu tarik nafas kuat sangat. Tapi ada sorang, si Faiz, hyper gila tak penat-penat, asyik ambil gambar suruh orang senyum. Adehh, jem betul dia ni.
Reason this whole trip happened pun sebab si Una. Masa dalam kelas, Fiza tanya pasal Menara Condong Teluk Intan, then entah macam mana aku terfikir ajak hiking ni. Una memang dah lama nak pergi sini since our practical days. So finally, impian dia fulfilled. Next maybe kena fulfill Fiza pulak 😅.
We pushed on sebab bot yang kami booked datang pukul 3:30 pm. RM100 per boat (fits 10 people, tapi kami 12 so squeeze je). On the way, finally jumpa hikers lain — mostly on their way back sebab diorang datang pagi.
Dekat simpang to Pantai Kerachut, barulah rehat lama sikit. Masa ni jumpa satu Arab family, siap anak kecil dia terpisah kejap. Cuak kawan aku tengok budak kecik tu sorang-sorang dalam hutan. Nasib jumpa balik ayah dia. Faiz sempat snap gambar lagi.
From here, semangat datang balik sebab dah boleh bau laut (poyo lebih 🤭). Banyak turun bukit pulak lepas tu, sampai kaki sakit hentak tanah. Finally, nampak signboard Pantai Kerachut — 5 minutes away. Tapi sumpah rasa macam 5 jam nak sampai. Semua lapar gila dah.
And after almost 2 hours plus of tough hiking, finally… we made it safely to Pantai Kerachut.
